About Me
I’m a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Accounting at Holy Cross. I teach undergraduate economics courses. My
research interests are in environmental economics and applied microeconomics. My work centers on analyzing and designing solutions that
address environmental and social issues in the U.S and Africa. I hold a PhD in economics and a Master in international development and social
Change.
As an instructor, my teaching philosophy promotes an active and inclusive learning environment with activities designed to accommodate
different student learning styles by leveraging collaborative learning, technology, and open education resources. Courses I teach include
principles of economics, statistics, women and the environment, and climate change.

Research
One of my research aims to understand the factors contributing to the engagement, success, and sense of belonging of students. With my research, I designed interventions to increase their graduation rate and prepare them for a successful career. My work is funded through grants from the National Science Foundation (Award No 2322665 2024-2029 -- PI).
I also developed and applied economic tools to examine how coastal communities value coastal ecosystem services that are vulnerable to sea level rise, focusing on coastal wetlands. My research responds to the need to build coastal resilience in the face of climate change and was conducted as part of an interdisciplinary project supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF Grant OCE-1427105; R. Johnston, PI), “Coastal SEES Collaborative Research: Coastal Sustainability: A Cross-Site Comparison of Salt Marsh Persistence in Response to Sea-level Rise and Feedbacks from Social Adaptations.”
